Webcast overview
The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) extended, expanded, and brought into the code a broad range of clean energy tax incentives. Until now, tax-exempt organizations were generally not able to benefit from clean energy tax incentives. However, the IRA included not only more than $350 million in new and expanded clean energy incentives, but it also added a 鈥渄irect pay鈥 (refundability) option to many clean energy tax credits so that聽tax-exempt organizations, like hospital systems, may benefit by receiving cash payments for unused credit amounts. State and local government entities may also take advantage of the IRA鈥檚 clean energy incentives.
