Would include mid-sized commercial vehicles and registered marine fishers
The Jamaican government on March 20, 2025, announced a proposal to expand the existing 20% duty concession on agricultural vehicles to include mid-sized commercial vehicles and registered marine fishers.
The proposal also includes extending the allowable import age for light commercial vehicles from 10 to 15 years, with the goal of improving transportation efficiency and reducing costs in the agricultural and fishing sectors.
The government has not provided a timeline for when the proposal might become effective.
