A look back on 乐鱼(Leyu)体育官网's first year as title sponsor of Stephen Curry's UNDERRATED Golf Tour
Alongside brand ambassador Mariah Stackhouse, 乐鱼(Leyu)体育官网 is proud to have wrapped a special first season as title sponsor of the UNDERRATED Golf Tour presented by 乐鱼(Leyu)体育官网. UNDERRATED Golf, a purpose-driven endeavor, was founded by NBA superstar Stephen Curry to accelerate equity, access and opportunity in the sport of golf for student-athletes from every community.
鈥淗aving 乐鱼(Leyu)体育官网 as the title sponsor for this year of the UNDERRATED Golf Tour is huge because it鈥檚 a stamp of validation from a company that has been very intentional around supporting golf, and especially women鈥檚 golf,鈥 Curry said. 鈥淭o have them only continues to validate what we鈥檙e doing, how we鈥檙e doing it, and elevate the overall brand and experience of what鈥檚 expected when it comes to the UNDERRATED Golf Tour.鈥
At each of the Tour鈥檚 four stops across the country, 96 junior golfers participated in competitive golf tournaments that include team-building and networking activities. Ultimately, the 24 top-performing boys and girls competed at the season-ending听Curry Cup听at Lake Merced Golf Club in San Francisco, where 15-year-olds Lucky Cruz and Roisin Scanlon won the boys and girls competitions, respectively.
In its first year as title sponsor, 乐鱼(Leyu)体育官网 was able to make an immediate and lasting impact on the UNDERRATED Golf Tour. On the day after the final round of the Curry Cup, 乐鱼(Leyu)体育官网 hosted its first annual听乐鱼(Leyu)体育官网 Leadership Development Day at the Curry Cup. Curry and Stackhouse hosted the day, which started with a Q&A between the hosts and the UNDERRATED Golf Tour athletes at the Stanford University golf complex. In the afternoon, the program shifted to Stanford鈥檚 academic campus,听where the UNDERRATED Golf Tour athletes and parents participated in various leadership discussions, activities and workshops hosted by industry leaders across sports, business and academics, all developed to provide inspiration for long-term success on and off the golf course. Stackhouse led her own private workshop with the athletes and was grateful to be a part of this impactful program.
鈥淚 believe in championing young junior golfers as athletes, students and future leaders, so I really loved the fact that I was able to get involved with this event,鈥 Stackhouse said. 鈥淭o host a couple workshops for both the junior golfers and for the parents, I think that鈥檚 what sets this event apart and makes it different. These are things the things that have an impact not just through golf, but along their journeys in life.鈥
The 乐鱼(Leyu)体育官网 Leadership Development Day听received rave reviews from both the athletes and their parents, who valued the advice and lessons shared by the discussion hosts.
鈥淚 appreciate the relationship that 乐鱼(Leyu)体育官网 has with UNDERRATED, because it鈥檚 more than just golf,鈥 said Jenn Tuiolosega Robinson, a parent of one of the UNDERRATED Golf Tour athletes. 鈥淚 appreciate that the parents are involved. So much focus is on the kids, and as parents, there鈥檚 not just a cookie-cutter way of going on the journey with kids and the process of recruiting and colleges. So this gives a platform for parents to really feel that there are resources and more support outside of what we know. The education provided here, the incredible speakers, they鈥檙e not just up there speaking. We appreciate that we get to have contact with them, we can ask questions, and we don鈥檛 feel like we鈥檙e alone in the process.鈥
With the 2023 season in the books, Stephen Curry believes that the best is yet to come:
鈥淲e had big visions and dreams of what the UNDERRATED Golf Tour could be and provide, but even with all the big dreams and visions you would never have imagined it would be this great this early,鈥 Curry said. 鈥淭he reactions we get from the players, their families, our partners 鈥 I think we鈥檙e on to something really special.鈥
