    Thomas joined ÀÖÓ㣨Leyu£©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍø in 2021 as the financial services tax leader and was a member of the Board of Directors of ÀÖÓ㣨Leyu£©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍø Switzerland from 2023 to 2024. He is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and spent more than 25 year in the financial services sector. He is former Head of Taxes at Swiss Life group which is a leading life insurance and asset manager in Europe.Ìý


    Also, Thomas is lecturer at University of Liechtenstein for Swiss corporate tax law and international tax law and he is lecturer at Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences for insurance and pension law.Ìý


    He acts as speaker for pension, corporate and insurance tax law.


    Thomas has more than 25 years of experience as a tax advisor mainly focussing on international tax law, Swiss corporate tax as well as tax governance and risk management.

    1. Areas of expertise

      His experience comprises product development for life insurance, pension, asset management and banking. He advised multinational financial services groups in corporate restructuring (incl. relocations, mergers and liquidations of insurers), financing, international cross-border tax planning as well as transfer pricing.

      He is additionally specialized in tax risk management, tax accounting and reporting after IFRS as well as Swiss GAAP FER. Thomas Brotzer is insurance and banking regulatory specialist and worked as a FINMA auditor.

      Thomas Brotzer has extensive experience in the implementation of new regulatory frameworks
      (incl. introduction of new legislation such as OECD global minimum tax).

      He acts as the lead tax audit partner for multinational financial services groups based in Switzerland.

      He provided advisory services for sell-side and buy-side transactions; he has also assisted insurance companies on IPOs and capital raisings, co-operations, strategic investments and market / product penetration initiatives.
