Following parliamentary approval of the 2023/2024 national budget, the Parliament of Tanzania has enacted the Finance Act, 2023 (dated 30 June 2023) to impose and alter certain taxes, duties, levies, and fees, and to amend certain laws relating to the collection and management of public revenues.
The Finance Act, 2023鈥攅ffective 1 July 2023鈥攊ncludes measures concerning income tax, excise duty (tax), service levy and advertisement fees, property rates, the gaming law, electronic money transfer levy, export levy, roads and fuels tolls, the mining law, the tax administration law, and value added tax (VAT).
