Uganda鈥檚 Minister of Finance Planning and Economic Development tabled the 鈥淭ax Amendment Bills of 2023鈥� and 鈥淭he Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters (Implementation) Bill鈥� before the parliament for debate on 30 March 2023.

The bills concern income tax, value added tax (VAT), excise duty, lotteries and gaming, and the tax procedures code.

Once passed into law by the parliament and assented to by the president of Uganda, the bills will take effect from 1 July 2023.
