Wale is the ÀÖÓ㣨Leyu£©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍø Africa Head of Tax as well as Head of Tax in Nigeria.  Wale has extensive experience working with large Nigerian corporates and multinational companies on a range of tax, regulatory, rewards and immigration matters. He has proactively provided them with practical advice on how to manage any potential impact on their Nigerian operations. He has been actively involved in the various technical committees on the review of Nigerian tax laws. He played a key role in the enactment of the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021, which took 20 years.

With a deep expertise in structuring and cross border transactions and a passion for accelerating digitalization within tax, he sees his role as being a catalyst for problem solving to the complex business challenges that leaders face as they navigate the often volatile and constantly changing environment. Wale has served as the tax engagement partner on most of ÀÖÓ㣨Leyu£©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍø’s energy clients. He has provided tax advisory, compliance and regulatory services to international and national companies operating in the industry. He has acted as the engagement partner on capacity building projects with the Federal Inland Revenue Service. He has also served as expert witness to companies in the oil and gas industry.

Wale is very passionate about people and currently serves as mentors to many people within and outside the office. He works actively with them to become a better version of themselves, thereby helping them unlock their full potential.

Wale has published various articles on topical issues, especially with respect to the oil and gas industry, in international journals and local media, such as the Tax Notes International, International Energy Law and Taxation Review, Bloomberg Tax, Tax Planning International review. He regularly appears as a business and tax analyst on Arise TV, Channels TV, AIT and News Central. He has also spoken at various professional and national platforms on matters relating to the economy, finance, tax, regulatory and compensation.
