Scheme for Electricity Generation from Renewable Energy Sources for Self-Consumption
The Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry announces that the deadline for submitting applications for Category A - Net Metering, Category B - Net Billing, Category D - Virtual Net Metering, and Category E - Virtual Net Billing under the "Scheme for Electricity Generation from Renewable Energy Sources for Self-Consumption" (April 2024) has been extended until 01/08/2025, or until any revision of the Scheme following a relevant announcement by the Ministry.

Industrial Production Index: January 2025
In January 2025, the Industrial Production Index reached 103,9 units (base 2021=100), recording an increase of 4,3% compared to January 2024.
The manufacturing sector registered an increase of 3,7% compared to January 2024. An increase was also observed in the sectors of mining and quarrying (+16,8%), water supply and materials recovery (+9,6%) and electricity supply (+3,7%).
In the manufacturing sector, the most significant positive changes compared to January 2024 were observed in the manufacturing of electronic and optical products and electrical equipment (+29,9%), other non-metallic mineral products (+23,2%) and machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and other transport equipment (+6,7%). The most important negative changes were observed in the manufacturing of paper and paper products and printing (-12,3%) and furniture and repair/installation of machinery and equipment (-6,6%).

The Index of Industrial Output Prices for February 2025 reached 121,7 units (base 2021=100), recording a decrease of 0,2% compared to January 2025. Compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, the index recorded a decrease of 0,5%. For the period January-February 2025, the index showed a decrease of 0,4% compared to the corresponding period of 2024.
In February 2025 compared to January 2025, the index showed an increase in the sectors of mining and quarrying by 3,4%, water supply and materials recovery by 0,7% and electricity supply by 0,1%, while it showed a decrease in the sector of manufacturing by 0,3%.
Compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, an increase was recorded in the sectors of mining and quarrying (4,5%), water supply and materials recovery (0,5%) and manufacturing (0,3%), while a decrease was shown in the electricity supply sector by 4,8%.
By division of economic activity in manufacturing, in February 2025 compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, increases were recorded in the manufacture of electronic and optical products and electrical equipment (6,8%), the manufacture of furniture, other manufacturing and repair and installation of machinery and equipment (4,4%), the manufacture of textiles, wearing apparel and leather products (3,3%), the manufacture of paper and paper products and printing (3,1%), the manufacture of refined petroleum products, chemicals and chemical products and pharmaceutical products and preparations (2,2%) and the manufacture of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and other transport equipment (2,0%), while a decrease was recorded in the manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco products (-1,4%) and the manufacture of wood and products of wood and cork, except furniture (-0,1%).

Building Permits: November 2024
The Statistical Service announces that the number of building permits authorized during November 2024 stood at 487 compared to 677 in November 2023, registering a decrease of 28,1%. The total value of these permits reached 鈧�212,5 million and the total area 178,9 thousand square metres. These building permits provide for the construction of 993 dwelling units.
During the period January 鈥� November 2024, 6.442 building permits were issued compared to 6.583 in the corresponding period of the previous year, recording a decrease of 2,1%. The total value of these permits increased by 2,3% and the total area by 4,1%. The number of dwelling units recorded an increase of 4,8%.
It is noted that as from the 1st July 2024, the authority of issuing building permits was transferred from the municipalities and the district administration offices to the newly founded Local Government Organisations (LGOs) and the licensing process is performed through the new integrated information system 鈥淚ppodamos鈥�.

Consumer Price Index (CPI): March 2025
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in March 2025 increased by 0,14 points, reaching 117,25 units compared to 117,11 units in February 2025. Inflation in March 2025 increased at a rate of 1,6%.
The largest change in economic categories compared to March 2024 and the previous month was recorded in Agricultural Goods, with percentages of 6,6% and -2,4%, respectively.
Analysis of Percentage Changes
Compared to March 2024, the largest changes were observed in the categories of Clothing and Footwear (-7,8%), Restaurants and Hotels (5,1%), Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels (4,2%) and Education (3,7%).
Compared to February 2025, the largest change was recorded in the Clothing and Footwear category (2,8%).
For the period January 鈥� March 2025, compared to the same period of the previous year, the largest changes were observed in the categories of Clothing and Footwear (-5,3%), Restaurants and Hotels (4,2%), and Education (3,7%).
Analysis of Effects in Units
The largest positive impact on the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for March 2025 compared to March 2024 was observed in the categories of Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and other Fuels (0,66) and Restaurants and Hotels (0,54). On the other hand, the category of Clothing and Footwear had the largest negative impact (-0,59).
The category with the greatest impact on the change in the CPI compared to the previous month was Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (-0,27).
The largest positive impact on the change in the CPI for March 2025 compared to March 2024 was recorded in the Catering Services (0,53) and Electricity (0,29), while the largest negative impact came from Clothing Items (-0,40).
Catering Services had the most significant positive impact on the CPI change for March 2025 compared to the previous month (0,19), while the largest negative impact was observed in Fresh Vegetables (-0,35).
