The process of refunding the fees paid to the Register of Beneficial Owners has been completed
The Department of the Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property, following its announcement dated 31 January 2024, informs that the refund process of the fees paid from 01/01/2024 鈥� 01/16/2024 in relation to the Register of Beneficial Owners has been completed. The refund has been made directly to the account of the card with which the original payment was made.
It is noted that 1 from April 2024, non-compliance will result in the imposition of administrative and other sanctions, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on the Prevention and Suppression of Money Laundering from Illegal Activities and the Code of Civil Procedure 112/21, as amended and in force.

Industrial Turnover Index: November 2023
In November 2023, the Industrial Turnover Index reached 193,4 units (base 2015=100), recording an increase of 2,1% compared to November 2022. For the period January 鈥� November 2023, the index recorded an increase of 6,4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
In manufacturing, the Industrial Turnover Index for November 2023 reached 190,5 units, recording an increase of 3,4% compared to November 2022. Increases were also noted in the sectors of mining and quarrying (+12,4%) and water supply and materials recovery (+10,0%). A decrease was recorded in the electricity supply sector (-5,4%).

Registered unemployed: January 2024
The unemployed persons, registered at the District Labour Offices on the last day of January 2024, reached 14.699 persons. Based on the seasonally adjusted data that show the trend of unemployment, the number of registered unemployed for January 2024 decreased to 11.897 persons in comparison to 11.935 in the previous month.
In comparison with January 2023, a decrease of 2.059 persons or 12,3% was recorded, attributed mainly to the sectors of financial and insurance activities, construction, trade, accommodation and food service activities, as well as to the decrease recorded for newcomers in the labour market.

Supply, use and input-output tables: 2020
The Statistical Service announces the publication of the Supply, Use and Input-Output tables of Cyprus, for the year 2020 in current prices and in previous year prices. It is noted that the data for the years 2018- 2019 has been revised.
For the year 2020, total supply and use at purchasers鈥� prices are balanced at 鈧�65.212,0 mn. Business services account for 45,2% of total supply, followed by manufacturing products 25,4% and distribution & transport services 10,4%. The share of other services in total supply is 10,0%, of construction works 7,3% and of agriculture, forestry & fishing products 1,7%.
The domestic production accounts for 69,4% of total supply, imports for 26,9% and net taxes for 3,7%. Imports have a particularly large share (45,6%) of total supply of manufacturing products. Net taxes on products have a higher share in the supply of manufacturing products (9,3%) and construction works (6,3%), than in the other product categories.
Intermediate consumption has the largest share (39,2%) in total use. The second largest share of total use is final consumption (27,2%), followed by exports (26,5%) and gross capital formation (7,1%). Intermediate consumption makes up the majority of total use of agriculture, forestry and fishing products (51,5%) and business services (46,1%). The supply of construction works is mostly used as gross capital formation (54,4%), closely followed by intermediate consumption (44,0%). Distribution and transport services are mostly exported (49,7%), with their next most important use being intermediate consumption (43,2%).

Registration of motor vehicles: January 2024
The Statistical Service announces the publication of the report entitled "Registration of Motor Vehicles" for the period January 2024.
The main developments in January 2024 compared to the corresponding month of 2023 are summarised as follows:
(a) In January 2024, the total registrations of motor vehicles numbered 4.243 from 3.128 in January 2023, recording an increase of 35,6%.
(b) Passenger saloon cars increased to 3.430 from 2.493 in January 2023, recording a rise of 37,6%. Of the total passenger saloon cars, 1.527 or 44,5% were new and 1.903 or 55,5% were used cars. Rental cars in particular recorded a fall of 25,8% to 201.
(c) Motor coaches and buses registered in January 2024 increased to 14, from 11 in the same month of 2023.
(d) Goods conveyance vehicles increased by 25,7% to 440 in January 2024, compared to 350 in January 2023. In particular, light goods vehicles increased by 25,6% to 353, heavy goods vehicles by 9,5% to 46, road tractors (units of trailers) by 15,4% to 15 and rental vehicles by 85,7% to 26.
(e) Mopeds < 50cc registered in January 2024 increased to 18, from 12 in the corresponding month of the previous year.
(f) Mechanised cycles > 50cc increased by 35,7% to 281 in January 2024, compared to 207 in January 2023.
