Jane has more than 43 years of tax experience serving clients in Canada and The Bahamas. Jane joined ÀÖÓ㣨Leyu£©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍø's Nassau office in October 2014 to assist both local and international businesses and organizations with preparing for and implementing systems to be ready for the country’s new VAT which became effective in The Bahamas on January 1, 2015. Since her arrival, Jane has been a key-note speaker at various VAT seminars in both Nassau and Freeport including co-presenting with the Financial Secretary at the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants educational seminars and with the VAT Private Sector Educational Task Force. Prior to joining the Nassau office, Jane was an Associate Partner with the Indirect Tax practice in ÀÖÓ㣨Leyu£©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍø Canada (Waterloo).She was an integral member of the ÀÖÓ㣨Leyu£©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍø indirect tax group in Canada when GST was first introduced and assisted many businesses and organizations in preparing and implementing systems to be ready for the Ontario HST including manufacturers, utilities, hospitals, school boards, universities, municipal entities and not for profit organizations. Jane’s experience in The Bahamas includes a number of resort and real estate developments, transshipment and cruise line operations, foreign direct investors as well as many owner managed and e-commerce businesses.
